As a Kill Floor Operations Specialist at Weaver Meat Processing, you will play a pivotal role in the initial stages of meat production, ensuring the humane and efficient processing of livestock. Your responsibilities will encompass tasks ranging from humane livestock handling, skinning, evisceration, and splitting, to maintaining cleanliness on the kill floor. Humane Livestock Handling:

  •  Handle livestock with the utmost care and respect, ensuring their well-being and minimizing stress during the processing.
  •  Adhere to industry best practices and guidelines for humane livestock handling at all times.

Skinning and Evisceration:

  •  Assist in the process of removing the hide from livestock carcasses in a skillful and precise manner.
  •  Contribute to the efficient removal of guts and organs, ensuring thorough and careful evisceration.

Carcass Splitting:

  •  Skillfully split carcasses in half, following established procedures and maintaining the integrity of meat cuts.
  •  Collaborate with the team to ensure consistent and precise splitting for further processing.

Carcass Washing and Sanitation:

  •  Wash carcasses thoroughly to remove debris and contaminants, maintaining strict hygiene standards.
  •  Ensure the cleanliness of work areas and equipment to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a safe work environment.

Quality and Animal Welfare:

  •  Uphold a strong commitment to animal welfare by following humane handling practices and ethical treatment of livestock.
  •  Monitor the well-being of livestock throughout processing and promptly address any concerns.

Team Collaboration:

  •  Work closely with the kill floor team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  •  Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to address any issues and make necessary adjustments.

Safety and Compliance:

  •  Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  •  Maintain awareness of and compliance with company policies and procedures.


  • Previous experience in a meat processing environment, particularly in the kill floor, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with humane livestock handling techniques and carcass processing procedures.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy carcasses and standing for
    extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and precision in skinning, evisceration, and carcass splitting.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, with a commitment to maintaining a clean
    and safe work environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with the kill floor team.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work efficiently, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
